The Definiton and purpose of Siwak

 Siwak: Purification. As-Siwak derived from Arabic which meant brushing or brushing your teeth. This word is sometimes addressed to the tools used for brushing teeth namely wooden toothpick. According to the terms ulamak, bersiwak intends; using wooden toothpick or for instance on the tooth to remove the impression of yellow (poo teeth) or so of the tooth. Bersiwak advantages mentioned by the Prophet in his saying: "Bersiwak it cleanses the mouth and cause keredhaan god and bring hatred to the devil". (Reported by Imam an-Nasai)

Tools for bersiwak

اللهم بيض به أسناني وشد به لثاتي, وثبت به لهاتي, وبارك لي فيه يا أرحم الراحمين

(Allaahomma bayyidh bihii asnaani syuddabihi litsaati wa wa wa tsabbit bihi lahaatii baariklu fiihi yaa arhamar raahimiin)

"O my Lord! Putihkanlah with my teeth. Kukuhkanlah with gum-gums, tongue ordain her son / daughter tekakku. And bless her for me. O God most merciful ".

According to Imam Nawawi, this prayer once did not come from the Prophet but it must be carried out kerana he was a good prayer. (Al-Majmu ', 1/350)
